Keith Sydnor鈥檚 2023 election as Laurel鈥檚 first Black mayor was an important milestone,  but only part of the community鈥檚 African-American voting history. 

The Laurel Museum hosted a temporary exhibit 鈥淰isions and Voices鈥 to celebrate the electoral accomplishments of Laurel鈥檚 Black community. 

The exhibit explored some of the highlights and perspectives of African Americans who ran for city office.
